Heating Advice

Presently we have an old boiler that serves our heat and hot water. The flue runs up the chimney. IIs it possible to re-route the flue from the chimney to another outside wall and does a shower pump work with a combi boiler?

We are unable to give such specific advice on the flue system as this would require a site visit by a competent installer who is Gas Safe or OFTEC registered (you do not state if the boiler is gas or oil).

The idea of a combi boiler is that it heats water directly from the mains water supply, at mains pressure, on demand – hence there is no need for a hot water storage cylinder. These boilers cannot be used with a pumped shower and you will therefore need to ensure that the combi boiler is sized to provide the simultaneous hot water flow rate you may require to both showers and hot water taps – again a competent installer will advise.
