Where can I see the current regulations on the boiler type and position for a replacement floor standing boiler?
The main “requirement” for a replacement boiler is that under current Building Regulations it must (with some minor exceptions) be a condensing (i.e. high efficiency) boiler.
There may be other general issues to do with the:
- Location of the flue outlet (in terms of distance from opening windows etc, or possible nuisance to neighbours)
- The requirement to pipe away “condensate” from the boiler. These may dictate whether the boiler can be replaced in its current location.
Floor standing condensing boilers (gas, oil or LPG fuelled) are widely available from many UK manufacturers and there should be no other issues with direct replacement if that is what you require.
