Heating Advice
Is is possible to combine an air-to-water heat pump with a conventional oil-fired boiler in a house that will have partial underfloor heating?
A quick survey of heat pump manufacturers' literature indicates that it is possible in principle to use air to water heat pumps with oil/gas boilers in "bivalent" systems" and for such systems to run partial underfloor heating.
I am unable to advise in greater detail and would suggest that you consult a competent local installer who has experience in linking such systems together (and providing the controls required to run them together).
If (as seems probable) you have an oil boiler already it would be helpful to contact the manufacturer for specific advice on whether that boiler can be used in this way. If you have a complete new installation in mind the boiler manufacturer should again be consulted to ensure that the whole system can be integrated as planned.
